E-Sports School Tour 2024 Grand Final Heats Up in Khon Kaen!Paving the Way for Young Gamers to Go National!

On January 31, 2025, the Final Round of the E-Sports School Tour 2024 was held at the Focus Arena E-Sport Complex in Khon Kaen Province. This event marked a significant milestone under the project “Promoting Alternative Learning Through E-Sports Classrooms,” initiated by the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.

The primary objective of the project is to create new learning spaces for youth, enhance digital skills, and promote the sustainable growth of the E-Sports industry in Thailand. The project reflects a strong commitment to youth development and digital empowerment through competitive gaming.

The project aims to serve as a central hub for consultation and to foster accurate public understanding of the E-Sports industry, particularly in the Northeastern region of Thailand. Furthermore, it seeks to establish a center of excellence in coding education and digital citizenship development—essential skills in the modern digital era.

The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, is committed to developing initiatives that benefit young people, providing them with opportunities to learn and grow within the E-Sports field in a stable and sustainable way. This effort is supported by strategic partners who share the vision of shaping a brighter future for the next generation.

This competition was supported by various sectors, most notably True 5G, which provided advanced communication networks and technology infrastructure to enhance the competitive experience and deliver the best possible environment for youth participants. Mr. Atta Arunrattanapong, Head of Regional Management for Northeastern Region 1, True Corporation Public Company Limited, represented the company in supporting this initiative, which served as a platform for youth learning and skill development.

The E-Sports School Tour 2024 Final Round aimed to promote creative learning and strengthen youth digital technology skills. At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Issara Kanajak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, emphasized the importance of the event as a valuable opportunity for young people to demonstrate their analytical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. He also highlighted the role of the event in fostering greater public understanding of the E-Sports industry in Thai society.

The event was further supported by the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), which plays a key role in driving E-Sports-based learning for youth in the Northeastern region. Their involvement underscores the power of collaboration between public and private sectors in creating alternative educational opportunities for Thai youth.

Also in attendance was Asst. Prof. Jaturaporn Chokphukiew, Chair of the Cluster Coordination Committee under the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B), who expressed full support for the event. This initiative represents a joint effort to shape the future of Thai youth and the E-Sports ecosystem in Thailand.

The E-Sports School Tour 2024 Final Round drew overwhelming interest from both E-Sports athletes and the general public. The organizers aimed to establish this event as a vital platform for youth empowerment, while also propelling the Thai E-Sports industry onto the international stage.
